Bring Me The Horizon has recorded “45 Songs” for their upcoming album.
The ‘Drown’ rockers – whose most recent collection was 2020’s ‘Post Human: Survival Horror’ – are hard at work on the follow-up, and frontman Oli Sykes admitted the hard part was deciding which tracks would make the next one. LP.
He told BANG Showbiz: “We’re doing a lot of concerts, hopefully if the world is good. A lot of European festivals and we’ll go to the US in September. And hopefully a new record.
“We’ve been working on it for about a year now, we’ve got a lot of music, we’re just pretty picky about what we want to release. We need to have about 45 songs.”
The band – whose lineup is rounded out by Matt Kean, Lee Malia, Matt Nicholls and Jordan Fish – have recently collaborated with a number of big-name names including Machine Gun Kelly, Masked Wolf and Ed Sheeran, and it remains to be seen. if they will present other duets on their next album.
Oli previously revealed that Ed wanted to work with the band again and the pair had started planning the new song they would write together.
He told BANG Showbiz: “We’re talking about it. We emailed each other and figured out what it could look like and what it would be. I think Ed is really excited about it and so are we. .”
Oli admits their BRITs performance – which saw them team up on a version of Ed’s hit “Bad Habits” – worked out better than anyone could have hoped, and he was thrilled to find that the pop megastar Ed is a real fan of Bring Me The Horizon and heavy metal music in general.
He said: “It was really fun doing the cover and it worked out a lot better than we thought. You never know when people say they’re a big fan if that’s true. We had heard by the vine that he was in us. We thought, ‘Is he just saying that?’ But when we met him, we could feel that his enthusiasm was real.”
