Coheed and Cambria Could Have Bet Bigger on KISS’s ‘Love Gun’ Cover

It’s all acoustic and not theatrical for Coheed and Cambria on the prog rockers’ cover of the KISS classic “Love Gun.” The band’s understated take on the suggestive ’70s rock hit emerged in a video performance on Wednesday (April 20).

Not that the cover of the quartet led by Claudio Sanchez is inferior. Because that’s really great — but as a listener, when you see something that says, Coheed and Cambria cover Love Gun by KISSwell… let’s just say there were visions of a Paul Stanley-inspired gaudy space opera dancing in our heads.

Watch the video at the bottom of this article.

After all, with Coheed and Cambria, you’re talking about the same band that made prog-emo themed albums like Good Apollo, I’m Burning Star IV, Volume One: Fear Through the Eyes of Madness (2005) and The second stage turbine blade (2002). Be a player, place the bet.

Next month Coheed and Cambria will be released Vaxis – Act II: A Window of the Awakened Mindsequel to 2018 Vaxis – Act I: Evil Creatures. So is it too much to ask for a KISS-style stage make-up to tackle the 1977 gun of love title track? I’m joking of course !

Coheed will embark on “The Window of a Waking Mind” tour across North America this summer with support from Dance Gavin Dance and Mothica. See the dates under the video.
