On the heels of last month’s announcement that a collection of covers by Frank Sinatra would be released in support of the National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS), musician, producer, songwriter and founding member of hard rock bands Alter Bridge, Creed and Grammy Award-winning Tremonti. , Mark Tremonti releases another clip from his album Tremonti Sings Sinatra.

The video for “Fly Me To The Moon” – shot in black and white – documents Mark in the studio performing Sinatra’s timeless classic with members of Frank’s original band.

Tremonti Sings Sinatra – Mark’s most ambitious and thought-provoking project to date – is set for release on May 27. Mark has partnered with the National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS) through their new charity initiative called Take A Chance For Charity and proceeds from the album will go to support NDSS and the work they do to advocate and support people with Down syndrome and their families. Mark and his family were blessed to welcome their first daughter Stella in March 2021 – who was born with Down syndrome – and the idea for the project was born. A video sharing Take A Chance For Charity’s very personal story and behind-the-scenes clips can be viewed below:

Mark Tremonti reunited with the surviving members of Frank Sinatra’s orchestra, creating new versions of some of the classics and deeper cuts from Frank’s catalog. From the opening horns and piano of “I’ve Got You Under My Skin” to the closing vocal outro of “All Or Nothing At All”, Mark Tremonti showcases the signature vocal approach and exemplary musicality that made the work of timeless Sinatra. To realize his vision, Mark contacted Frank Sinatra’s musical director, Mike Smith, who gathered as many remaining members of Frank’s touring band as possible to record the music for Tremonti Sings Sinatra. Popular standards like ‘I’ve Got The World On A String’, ‘My Way’ and ‘That’s Life’ find new life in the hands of these incredible musicians. Mark Tremonti – known for his guitar work which has earned him countless accolades – leaves the instrument behind and only sings on the 14-track album. The illustration on the album cover is an original painting that Tremonti created especially for this project. Take A Chance For Charity is a new charity that aims to give artists/actors/athletes/anyone with a platform the chance to get out of their comfort zone. The idea is to get people out of the genre they are known for in order to raise money/awareness for the charity of their choice. We want people to have as much fun as possible while raising money for charity. An actor can sing, an athlete can dance, a musician can sing a song out of his genre – any artistic interpretation. It gives participants the opportunity to do something out of the ordinary – in fact extraordinary – all in the name of charity. Tremonti Sings Sinatra will be the first release for the cause, with the recipient being NDSS.

Some quotes about Tremonti Sings Sinatra:

“Mark has done a fantastic job on this record, his voice and tunes are amazing!” – Hank Cattaneo (Frank Sinatra – Duet Producer)

“Mark’s take on Sinatra is just plain odd. I never could have expected one of my favorite metal guitarists to deliver such faithful renditions of Sinatra classics. Not only instrumentally, but vocally ! & these recordings are for a cause close to my heart; I was very close to an uncle who had Down syndrome when I was growing up. I fully appreciate and support Mark’s commitment to the NDSS. – Barre oblique (Guns N Roses)

“Holy shit, I knew Mark was a heartbreaking guitar player, but I never had the idea that he had gold pipes too!!! Totally blown away, totally into it, let’s hear Mark more!!!” – Kirk Hammett (Metallica)

“When Mark first played me a track from this project, my jaw dropped. Gave me chills! It’s a side of Mark’s voice that people need to hear and I’m I’m sure they’ll be just as blown away as I was.” – Chris Daughtry (Daughtry)

“Wow! I’m absolutely blown away by Mark’s performance on this album!! He delivers the songs authentically, embodying all that is Frank but also giving us a glimpse of his own personality. I love the arrangements and doing it that some of Frank’s original band members contributed to these tracks. Honestly, I’ve known Mark for a long time and I know he’s super talented but I had no idea he was able to channel Old’ Blue Eyes like Simply beautifully done and what makes everything even more touching is the cause. I bet Mark’s daughter, Stella, was in his heart every step of the way through the recording process. Amazing!” – John Petrucci (Dream Theatre)

“Once again Mark Tremonti never ceases to amaze me. These renditions of some of Sinatra’s most beloved tunes are so eloquent, they’re remarkable. And what a great gift to the NDSS. Much love, respect and success for this incredible project. – Brent Smith (Shine Down)
