Nandi Bushell smashes the cover of Tool’s ‘Forty Six & 2’

Nandi Bushell took the intricate Tool song “Forty Six & 2” and completely crushed it.

“It was really the most difficult drum cover I’ve done so far,” Nandi said of the song. “Lots and lots of complex timing changes and tricky patterns, it’s really quick in places and it’s [a] very long song too! I really enjoyed the challenge !!! I am now a #ProgRock fan! #DannyCarey – INCREDIBLE rhythms! My Uncle Ema LOVES the tool. He played all their songs to me, hoping that I would pick one up for a very long time. This one’s for you Uncle Zombie. Tool is my most requested band! “

“Forty Six & 2” originally appeared on Tool’s nima album, released in 1996:

The 11-year-old YouTube sensation has over 350,000 YouTube subscribers and over 54 million views, gaining followers with his instrumental covers that have caught the attention of some of today’s top artists. Dave Grohl even invited Nandi to play “Everlong” with him at a concert in Los Angeles and after the show the song resurfaced on the charts.

She has covered tons of rock songs ranging from Rolling Stones’ “Gimme Shelter” to Slipknot’s “Duality” and has even performed with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Queen’s Roger Taylor, blink-182’s Travis Barker and more. Nandi also became the first musician in residence at Cartoon Network.
