The Melvins will kick off their Electric Roach Tour on Wednesday, June 15e at Alex’s Bar in Long Beach, California. The tour consists of several shows across the United States and includes special performances by Helms Alee and Harsh Mellow.

Formed in the early 80’s, The Melvins quickly became popular for their unique dark and heavy sound. They are recognized as being among the pioneers who helped create sludge and doom metal. The Washington rock band currently consists of vocalist and guitarist Buzz “King Buzzo” Osborne, drummer Dale Crover and guitarist Steven Shane McDonald.

Although the Melvins didn’t really break into mainstream success, they are credited with having a profound influence on grunge rock, influencing some of the world’s biggest bands such as Nirvana. Dale Crover even played drums with Nirvana for their debut album Bleach. The Melvins benefited greatly from the success of Nirvana, signing to Atlantic Records in the 1990s and having their fifth studio album, Houdinireach the Billboard graphics.

The Melvins are said to be working on their 25e The album is slated for release later this year or in 2023. While fans wait for new music, they can enjoy the Melvins’ tours such as The Five Legged Tour scheduled for this fall after The Electric Roach Tour. The Five Legged tour includes eight stops in California, ending October 29e at the Halloween Freakout in Los Angeles.
